  1. Retail clinics grew 847 percent between 2007 and 2016.
  2. 24% of retail clinic claims fell within the acute respiratory infection category.
  3. General symptoms (fever or malaise) accounted for 12% of claims.
  4. Communicable disease exposure accounted for 10% of claims.
  5. Retail clinic claims grew 704% in rural regions.
  6. Retail clinic claims grew 865% in urban areas.
  7. Individuals between ages 51 and 60 accounted for 24% of retail clinic users.
  8. 72% of retail clinic visits were for patients aged 31 to 70.
  9. Women utilized retail clinics more often than men.
  10. In patients ages zero to 10, 51% of visits were for boys compared to 49% for girls.
