CDC: Nationwide rise in STD rates from 2016 to 2017

- chlamydia rose by 7%
- gonorrhea rose by 19%
- syphilis rose by 11%
- congenital syphilis, which passes from mother to baby during pregnancy or delivery, rose by 44%
