- It's important to enroll on time: You're eligible for Medicare at age 65
- Medicare comes in several forms: Medicare Features Parts A and B that cover hospital expenses and D which offers precscription drug coverage
- Medicare covers a lot -- but some important things are not covered: Vision, hearing, dental or home health expenses
- It's not free: Part A is free for most people, but it carries a deductible ($1,316 for 2017)
- A Medicare Advantage plan might serve you best: Plans feature caps below $3,000 and the limit for 2017 is $6,700. Once you hit that limit, the plan will pay all further costs.
