- Innovations should never be judged based on the outcome of single evaluations.
- Evaluations need to assess interventions relative to what they are seeking to accomplish.
- Comparison groups need to be well understood before inferences are made.
- Early experiments will sometimes succeed, and sometimes falter.
- Performance improvement requires continued effort.
- External recognition is a necessary but insufficient marker for transformation.
- Research is needed to determine the key elements necessary for PCMHs to achieve all three Triple Aim goals.
