  1. Innovations should never be judged based on the outcome of single evaluations.
  2. Evaluations need to assess interventions relative to what they are seeking to accomplish.
  3. Comparison groups need to be well understood before inferences are made.
  4. Early experiments will sometimes succeed, and sometimes falter.
  5. Performance improvement requires continued effort.
  6. External recognition is a necessary but insufficient marker for transformation.
  7. Research is needed to determine the key elements necessary for PCMHs to achieve all three Triple Aim goals.
