  1. Nurse Practitioners visits in retail clinics were associated with lower costs per visit
  2. The costs associated with treating these conditions were consistently lower when Nurse Practitioners practiced independently
  3. The rate of emergency room and urgent care visits, and hospitalizations associated with retail clinic visits was lower than with nonretail visits for these conditions

Notes: Common conditions include: upper respiratory, ear, urinary tract and eye infections, allergies and influenza
