1. Establish a state-based exchange: 16 states and the District of Columbia
2. Default to a federally facilitated exchange: 33 states
3. Pursue a state partnership exchange: 7 states
4. Pursue the marketplace plan management option: 7 states
5. Have not opted for a formal role in exchange operations: 19 states
6. Pursue a bifurcated model: 1 state
