- Total annual costs of diagnosed diabetes in the U.S.: $174 billion
- 7.8% of the U.S. population has diabetes
- 24.2% of diabetes cases are undiagnosed
- Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S.
- Type 2 diabetes accounts for about 90% to 95% of all diagnosed cases
