- U-Report, Zambia - a youth-centered program providing confidential, free, individualized, and interactive counseling services on HIV and AIDS.
- Medical Diagnostic, South Africa - a rapid test kit which can diagnose strains of malaria, using blood samples. It can offer results in less than 30 minutes.
- Flying Doctors, Nigeria - the first medical air service in West Africa.
