The CommonWealth Fund has released its 'Scorecard on Local Health System Performance' which provides comparative data to assess the performance of health care systems. The scorecard Lists 43 indicators on local health system performance. Healthsprocket has 4 of the indicators posted as lists which contain the top three hospital referral regions for the indicator.

Top Cities for Hospital Care

This month Healthgrades released its Hospital Quality and Clinical Excellence Study which independently assessed the quality of care at the nation’s 5,000 hospitals. In doing this, Healthgrades was able to rank the top cities for hosptial care. Baltimore, Maryland was ranked number one.

Thomson Reuters has released its list of the top 15 health systems in the nation. Their list is broken up into 3 groups of 5 by health system size. Healthsprocket has a list posted for each of these groups. The list is broken up by size as follows:
 
Large: more than $1.5 billion total operating expense
Medium: $750 million–$1.5 billion total operating expense
Small: less than $750 million total operating expense
