Best Children's Hospitals

This week U.S. News released their "Best Children's Hospitals 2012-13" rankings. They surveyed 178 pediatric centers to obtain clinical data in 10 specialties and asked 150 pediatric specialists in each specialty where they would send the sickest children. Twelve hospitals that had high scores in at least three specialties were named to the Honor Roll.

This week the The Kaiser Initiative on Health Reform and Private Insurance released a report on insurer rebates under the medical loss ratio provision of the Affordable Care Act. The report contains estimates of rebates due in 2012 from insurers by state. 9 lists have been posted on healthsprocket which contain some of the data from this report.

IMS Health has released its annual list of the top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks (IHN). St Johns Health System in Springfield Missouri was ranked as the top IHN. The rankings are based on each network’s ability to operate as a unified organization in eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians. Healthsprocket has four lists that list the rankings by region;
